Heart Choices, Inc. is a non-profit facility which serves the greater North Central Kansas area and provides positive options and education to young women and men facing unplanned pregnancies, as well as free sonograms, parenting classes, life skills training, and material aid through an Earn While You Learn program.  Heart Choices does not offer, recommend or refer for abortions or abortifacients, but is committed to offering accurate information about abortion procedures and risks.   Heart Choices is not directly affiliated with any religious denomination. Leadership Profile

The successful individual will be a servant leader with exceptional organizational, financial, strategic and team leadership skills.  Any experience in successfully leading a nonprofit organization is a plus.  A passion and commitment to empower individuals to make healthy life choices related to sexuality, childbearing, and parenting consistent with the sanctity of human life is a must.

Job Summary:

The Executive Director of Heart Choices provides strategic leadership for the agency in alignment with its mission, vision, and values.  The ED reports to a volunteer Board of Directors and is expected to achieve organizational goals, maintain sound financial practices and cultivate positive relationships with supporters.

Responsibilities

·         Lead and Supervise Directors and Managers by facilitating communication, ensuring the goals and objectives of Heart Choices are being met, and that ongoing training for professional growth is provided.

·         Ensure accurate records are kept and statistical reports are compiled in compliance with all state and federal regulations.

·         Help develop and oversee the agency budget.

·         Write grants as appropriate for the agency’s need and supervise all grant reporting responsibilities.

·         Supervise all 4 agency offices in cooperation with the Site Managers.

·         Collaborate with the Medical Director and Nurse Manager to provide Sonograms to clients.

·         Meet monthly with the Board of Directors providing a report of agency activities and business needing board approval.

·         Provide education to the local community about Heart Choices with the goal of developing and maintaining support and involvement with the ministry.

·         In the absence of a public relations director, the ED will also:

o  Plan and conduct, with the assistance of the staff and board, all major fundraising events.

o  Develop new fundraising programs and promote the visibility of Heart Choices in the community.

Required Qualifications:

Exhibit a strong commitment and dedication to the sanctity of all human life and sexual purity.

Have a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in a related field, or related experience equivalent.

Have two years of experience in an administrative position (preferably with a nonprofit or ministry) with direct experience in supervising paid staff in an efficient and professional office.

Have one year of experience as a volunteer in some ministry capacity.

Have experience managing budgets and familiarity with grant writing and required reporting.

Exceptional stewardship, strategic-planning and project management skills.

Public relations and marketing knowledge with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, encouragement and direction for the staff and volunteers.

Ability to set a tone of compassion, acceptance, and availability to client, staff, and volunteer needs.

Job Type: Salaried, Full Time.  32-40 hours per week, sometimes more depending on events and fundraisers.

Pay: $50,000 per year

Location: This position will be located mostly in person at the Main Office in Beloit, KS.

Ability to relocate: Beloit, KS or surrounding communities with the ability to commute.
