Job Title: V. P. for Institutional Advancement
Job Description: – Guide the Institutional Advancement program of Barclay College by providing leadership and management expertise specifically in areas of funding resources and institutional branding. The Vice-President for Institutional Advancement will be an effective fund raiser and persuasive communicator of the vision of Barclay College to both internal and external audiences.
Supervisor: The Vice President for Institutional Advancement serves on the President’s Cabinet, and serves as consultant on the Institutional Advancement committee of the Board of Trustees. The Vice President for Institutional Advancement is a senior administrative position who reports to the President.
Status: Full Time
Responsibilities: Provide leadership for all areas of Institutional Advancement. Seek to maintain harmony, unity of purpose, vision, and cooperation among institutional departments and create and manage innovative programs that enhance the global goals and vision of Barclay College. Represent the institutional advancement goals to the president’s cabinet and to the board of trustees.
Establish and maintain a plan for assessing and implementing an effective funding philosophy and practice at Barclay College in coordination with the Committee for Strategic Planning. Use resulting information in decision making for the development of more effective programs and policies in creating funding resources and create new ongoing funding sources.
Manage all facets of institutional advancement, including, but not limited to, the following specific elements:
· Prepare and implement an annual fund raising plan for general operations,
· Prepare and implement an annual fund raising plan for capital/endowments
· Prepare and implement an annual fund raising plan for deferred gifts/estate planning
· Prepare and implement an annual fund raising plan for debt
· Prepare and implement an annual plan for grant proposals
· Maintain and expand a system that provides for extensive donor records and information.
· Acknowledge all gifts to the College
· Identify, develop, and nurture new funding sources for Barclay College
· Submit annual departmental budget.
· Oversee all contractual relationships pertaining to the office of Institutional Advancement.
· Delegate other responsibilities pertaining to the area of Institutional Advancement including public relations, marketing, and institutional branding as appropriate.
Other Duties
Supervisor to Director of Technology and Director of Marketing
Coordinate fundraising efforts with President and The Timothy Group
Oversight for Christmas Wreath and Finish in the Black Appeals
Represent College at Yearly Meeting sessions throughout US
Provide support for Kaleo & Bible Translation donor base
Supervising Editor for Annual Report
Monthly reports to Executive Committee
Quarterly Reports to Board of Trustees
Working knowledge of Donor Software and ability to execute donation information and reports
Produce annual Donor Appreciation Dinner, Alumni Weekend activities, Thank-a-thon, etc
Maintain DONATE page on Website
Send out Christmas Cards to top 200 donors
Oversee Golden Graduate recognition
Provide timely information to donor base (e.g. Year-end Statement, QCD letters, etc)
Oversee Endowed Scholar recognition
Oversee all publications
Oversee all Giving platforms (Benevity, Your Cause, etc)
Coordinate donations through Annual Auction with Ladies Auxiliary
Maintain signed Pledge cards for campaigns
Oversee all exterior signage for the college
Oversee all plaques presentations and interior signage
Work in cooperation with staff who support the Institutional Advancement objectives
Make a minimum commitment of 3-5 years to the position
